Robert Demetrius Griffin began singing at just five years old, launching a lifelong journey in the performing arts. From early childhood, he traveled extensively, nationally and internationally, singing, performing, and teaching music. Known affectionately as the baritone of gospel, Demetrius blended jazz, traditional, and classical influences into a sound instantly recognizable to the ear. His distinct high falsetto and remarkable vocal range set him apart as a rare and gifted artist.
Over the years, he graced countless stages, appearing in musical productions on and off Broadway, concerts, live recordings, studio sessions, and, most meaningfully to him, as a minstrel in churches across the country. In 2009, Demetrius produced “The Sound of Worship,” a gospel album with 19 tracks including his masterpiece "My Desire." Demetrius Griffin and The Griffin Experience, known for their harmonies and high-energy praise and worship delivered a timeless soul-stirring work of art before a packed audienc. Demetrius became one of the nation’s most sought after music ministers, collaborating with leading figures in both gospel and secular music.
